Clayton LeRoy Cook, age 91, a McMinnville, TN resident and Kansas City, MO native, was born September 5, 1928 and passed away July 7, 2020 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired machinist with DeZurik, a United States Army veteran of Korea, a member of West Riverside Church of Christ and a well known song leader for various Church of Christ congregations, he was the son of the late Lelan Atlee and Elva Golden Cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Mary Ellen Williams Cook. In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Roger, Golden and Dale Cook. He was married on October 19, 1996 to Blanche Danielson Cook of McMinnville, TN who survives. He is also survived by two children, Darrell (Dora) Cook and Gennean (Richard) Black, both of McMinnville, TN; four grandchildren, Darrell Cook, Lyndsey Cook, Adam Black and Angela Black; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Collin Cook; two step-grandchildren, Chris Parsley of Manchester, TN and Jessica Tidwell of Murfreesboro, TN; two step-great-grandchildren, Breelyn McGee and Hudson Hollis; step-child, Gina Parsley of Manchester, TN; four step-great-grandchildren, Bryson, Blayden, Braxtyn and Brantlyn Tidwell; brother, Larry (Zella) Cook of McMinnville, TN; sister, Betty Fletcher of Long Beach, MS; brothers-in-law, Vernon Williams of Oklahoma and Jim (Sue) Williams of the Vervilla Community; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 in High’s Chapel with Charles Williams and Doug Bost officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Christian Retirement Village.
