Daniel Lee Dodson

Daniel Lee Dodson, age 88, a Bone Cave resident and Van Buren County native was born March 21, 1931 and passed away on February 11, 2020 at his residence following an extended illness.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Korea, plant manager with Genesco, Vice-President of Hanover Shoe, plant manager of Texas Boot, a member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church, and the son of the late William “Bill” and Mattie Bryant Dodson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Janice Ann Dodson; two sisters, Anna Pearl McNeal and Genella Markum, and two brothers, Frank and James Dodson. He was married to Lue Edith Hutchings Dodson on January 16, 1954. In addition to his wife he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Mollie Dodson of Bone Cave, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Tommy Barnett of Pensacola, Fla; two grandchildren, Cori (Jimmy) Williams of Lebanon, TN and Christopher Dodson of Doyle, TN; five sisters, Shirley (Collier) Walker of Bone Cave, TN, Glenda (Roy) Adams of Readyville, TN, Sue Bailey of Bone Cave, TN, Louise Binkley of Doyle, TN, and June (Sam) Seamons of Bone Cave, TN. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Laurel Creek Baptist Church in Van Buren County with Dan Horton and Roy Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Cove Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Creek Baptist Church.
