Dawn Lucinda Carter, 52, was born at the George Air Force Base in California on July 15, 1970 and passed at St. Thomas River Park Hospital on August 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Carter; grandparents, I.D. and Evelyn Byars, Ken Carter and Ruth Carter of Nashville, TN; step-father, Randall G. Bickford and step-sister, Sharon Bickford. Dawn was a 1988 graduate of WCHS. She attended Vo-Tech where she received her secretarial degree. She worked for USDA and enjoyed volunteering and having her own “Dream Hour” at WCPI radio. She also enjoyed attending and helping at craft shows and helping at the Farmer’s Market. Dawn was a member of the Church of Christ at Smyrna. Everyone who was fortunate enough to meet Dawn was blessed by her cheerful smile and loving heart. She was truly special in so many ways. Ms. Carter is survived by her mother, Carolyn J. Bickford of McMinnville, TN; brother, Troy S. Carter (Emily) of McMinnville, TN; step-brother, Gary R. Bickford of Knoxville, TN; nephews, William and Everett Carter of McMinnville, TN; special aunt and uncle, Gloria and Preston Grissom of McMinnville, TN and special friends, Mary Little Pirtle, Barbara Harder, Judy Gambill, Barbara Orrick and Vinson Crossroad FCE Ladies. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Jon Simmons, Rickey Magness, Barbara Harder and Derrick Stiles officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
