Morrison, TN resident and Chattanooga, TN native Deborah Louise Baker, age 72, was born January 20, 1952 and died January 19, 2025 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN following a sudden illness.
A retired employee of PCA and of the Christian faith, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Ivan and Willie Louise Bettis Garrett. She was married to Oscar Lavern Baker on July 20, 1968 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Malcolm Ivan Bettis, Jr.
Mrs. Baker is survived by sons, Lee (LaJuana) Baker of Morrison, TN and Anthony (Linda) Baker of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, LaKaryl (Michael) Mayfield of McMinnville, Caleb Baker (Taylor) of Manchester, TN, Nate Baker of Morrison, TN, Cade (Madison) Baker of Manchester, TN and Elizabeth Baker of Morrison,TN; great-grandchildren, Laurel and Branson Mayfield; brothers, Delon (Bea) Ward of McMinnville and Terry Ward of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Sherry Lynn Jenkins of Murfreesboro, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Dustin Stoetzel officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
