McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Donald Lemuel Kelsey, age 75, was born October 12, 1943 and died October 30, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.A retired Trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol for thirty years and a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment for twenty-eight years, he was the son of the late Vester and Christine Southard Kelsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-mother, Roberta Turner Kelsey; and two brothers, Stanley and Larry Kelsey.He was married on December 22, 1967 to Janice Stiles Kelsey of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and spouses, Lee and Nicole Kelsey, Marianne and Glen Underwood, and Kimberly and Roger Smedley all of McMinnville; nine grandchildren and spouses, Kasey Underwood, River and Lacey Underwood, Dakota Kelsey, Makoye and Hope Underwood, Dawson Smedley, Kerrigan Cripps, Alanis Cripps, Korbin Smedley and Ava Cripps; two brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Judy Kelsey of McMinnville and Campbell Kelsey of McMinnville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Elrod of McMinnville and Phyllis and Jerry Barnes of McMinnville; three step-sisters, Charlotte Helton, Carolyn Youngblood and Karissa Nokes all of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy Hildreth Kelsey of McMinnville, Melba and Robert Bowers of South Carolina and June Frost of Chattanooga, TN.Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 in High's Chapel with Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
