McMinnville resident and Franklin, KY native Donald Ray Gann, age 86, was born July 26, 1937 and died October 9, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness. A veteran of the United States Army, retired landscaper and a member of Rolling Acres Brethren in Christ Church, he was the son of the late Lawson Henry and Maurine Huffines Gann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Brandon Hillis. Donald was a selfless, hardworking and strong man who loved to tell jokes and make everyone around him laugh. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and always wanted to take care of his family. Donald loved his family, especially his church family. He was married to Linda Gann of McMinnville on October 27, 1979. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gann is survived by six children, John Donald (Melinda) Gann of Lebanon, TN, Richard Boren of Rock Island, TN, Debbie Inman of Paris, TN, Diana Glover and Betty Bouldin, both of McMinnville and Lisa (Gary) Hillis of Rock Island, TN; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby (Peggy) Gann of Kadiz, KY and Paul (Charlotte) Gann and Tony Gann, both of Lebanon, TN; sister, Betty Belcher of Lebanon, TN; special friend, Betty Jo Paris of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Per Mr. Gann’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Rolling Acres Brethren in Christ Church with Jeff McKinnon officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
