Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Dorothy Jean Freeman, age 76, was born June 24, 1948 and died April 25, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN surrounded by her children and grandchildren following a sudden illness.
A former CNA with Warren Regional Hospital and Raintree Manor and a member of Freedom Life Church, she was the daughter of the late J.T. Church and Mattie Mae Fults Church, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Jason Freeman; grandsons, Jared J.T. Gum and Michael Freeman; granddaughter, Zoe Cervantes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pa Bear Floyd and Mildred Ruth Freeman and many more.
She was married to Robert Freeman of Rock Island, TN on December 12, 1981. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Freeman is survived by children, Donna Church, Sandra Gum, Robert Freeman, Jr. (Laura) and Jennifer Freeman Acosta; grandchildren, Vanessa (Zach) Cagle, Stephanie (Jon) Green, Cassandra (Levi) Cagle, Brianna Garcia, Cito (Tori) Garcia, Trevan (Zerlina) Gum, Mattie Freeman, Riley Morton, Kaden Williams, Lucian Freeman, Asia Wright, Jadience Wright, Willow Freeman, Silas Freeman, Lincoln Freeman, Brittni (Nathan) Harrison, Ali (Dylan) Meeks and Connor Wade; great-grandchildren, Destyn Green, Brentlee Butcher, Kyran Green, Maesyn Green, Brooklynn Cagle, Bristol Cagle, Jayden Gum, Idgie Silva, Maddie Hollon, Sadie Jennings, Kinley Jennings, Jonathan Harrison, Oaklyn Harrison and Donovan Cervantes; brothers and sister, J.T. Church (Ada), Treva Noll (Bryan), Leon Church (Claudia), Ricky Freeman (Sandra), Lynn Freeman (Judy) and Tony Freeman; special niece, Maddalynne and many more nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law, Angela McKnight.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Anthony Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek in Warren County. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
