McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Dorothy Lee Ashburn Herrin, age 91, was born July 19, 1933 and died March 10, 2025 at Fannie B’s Manor in McMinnville following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Rockford and member of Rockliff Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Odella Goolsby Ashburn. She was married September 11, 1955 to Oscar Paul “Howard” Herrin who preceded her in death on July 23, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Steven Dwight Herrin; infant siblings, Francis Ruth Ashburn and Ola Marie Ashburn; brother, Bobby Ashburn; sisters and brother-in-law, Eva Lois Smith and Betty Lou and Jack Burton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ned Herrin, Frank and Athella "Susie" Herrin, Charlie and June Herrin, Francis Cantrell Herrin, Wade Farley, Calvin and Mildred Herrin and Don Herrin.
Mrs. Herrin is survived by daughter-in-law, Sonja Herrin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jo Herrin, Linda Farley, Ben and Pearl Herrin, Dave and Josephine Herrin and Clara Nell and Teddy Slatton.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Christian Fellowship Church with Danny Sullivan and Bill Boyd to officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. There will be no service or visitation at High’s.
