She graduated from Hickman County High School and moved with her family to Oak Ridge, Tennessee where she married George Clifford Reel on April 4, 1947. Jean and "Kip" (as she fondly called him) dedicated their lives in service to the Lord as they worked with the churches of Christ in Tennessee: Clinton, New York Avenue (Oak Ridge), East Brainerd (Chattanooga), Oneida, and Karns (Knoxville); and in Lynchburg, Virginia and Lake Placid, Florida. They also did mission work together in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Ukraine and India. She was known for her kindness, compassion, service to all in need and for her cooking: donuts, homemade rolls, pies, clown cakes and many other goodies. The last song she sang was a hymn and the last time she smiled she was looking at a child. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Kip, and a daughter Sara Lu. Left to treasure memories of her are her children Lisa (Tom) Connor, and Lori (Bill) Boyd, and daughter in law, Mary Reel, her grandchildren Ben and Danielle Reel, Matt Reel, Lincoln Reel, Maggie Jean and David White, Anna Connor, Patrick and Sarah Connor, Joseph and Ginger Connor, Rose and Chad Banks, Cliff and Shawna Boyd, John and Jessica Boyd, Sara and Justin Reed, and great grandchildren Georgia, Nolan, Mabel, Charlie, Lena, Keely, William, Avonlea, Henry, Ava Ruth, Nora, Wynter, Luke, Meadow Mae, and Clara.
