Dorothy Mabel Burgess

McMinnville, TN resident and Rome, New York native Dorothy Mabel Burgess, age 96, was born April 2, 1925 and died October 26, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired nurse’s aide and member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Beatrice Vincent Frey. She was married to Earl Francis Burgess on September 1, 1979. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Terri Adams. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Burgess is survived by four children, Pat Panter and Virginia Graveline of McMinnville, TN, Faith Schroth of Virginia, and Kathy Dunn of McMinnville, TN; several grandchildren, Charlie Sunderland, Kelly Parks, and Glenda Martin, all of McMinnville, TN and Jeffrey Schroth, Johnny Schroth, Ethan Adams, Caitlyn Adams, and Helen Petroski; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Morrison of New York; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Steve Grayson officiating.
