Douglas Nelson West

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Douglas Nelson West, age 68, was born February 28, 1954 and died suddenly January 11, 2023 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN.           

A retired machinist with Cumberland Machine Company and a member of McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Toy and Lora Young West. He was married to Judy Carol Foutch West on November 22, 1972 who preceded him in death on June 1, 2022.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Jeanetta Hennessee and Inez McCormick and brother, Royce West.

Mr. West is survived by children, Marcie (Jason) Brimer and Clint (Jackie) West, both of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Cydnie West, Lakelynn Brimer, Dylan West, Madison Brimer, Haiden West and Everleigh Brimer; sisters, Linda (Charlie) Davis and Angelia (Ray) Elmy; brother, Hoyte (Brenda) West; sister-in-law, Elva West; brothers-in-law, Jerry Hennessee and Luke McCormick and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church in McMinnville, TN with Jerry Hennessee officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at High Funeral Home.
