Eddie Royce Cantrell, age 86, a Warren County, TN resident and DeKalb County native was born January 11, 1933 and passed away July 9, 2019 in St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Cantrell was a veteran of the United States Navy and Tennessee Army National Guard, retired officer of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and son of the late James Nathan and Maggie Givens Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Ruth Raymond Cantrell. He was married February 14, 2004 to Glenda Stubblefield Cantrell who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Debbie Cantrell Howard and husband Sammy of Morrison, TN; step-children and spouses, Rick and Faye Stacey of Winchester, TN, Dondi and Geno Volz of McKinney, TX, Beachel Sean and Tamara Curtis of Crestview, FL, Joseph Shane and Debbie Curtis of Ft. Leavenworth, KS; grandchildren, Mimi Howard Turner and Andrea Howard and several other grandchildren; two sisters, Emmalyne France of Smithville, TN and Melinda Young of Crossville, TN. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019 in Hebron Cemetery with Rickey Magness to officiate. Military grave rites will be conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at High’s.
