Edith Gertrude Harris

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Edith Gertrude Harris, age 85, was born May 13, 1934 and died January 21, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Frankie Lee Smartt Rhea. She was married on July 20, 1957 to Leonard Tait Harris who preceded her in death on December 17, 2009. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Bessie Sinks, Zelma Scott, Wilma Bratcher, Ruth Owen, Jean Butcher and Beatrice Rhea; brother, Earl Rhea; and son-in-law, Charles Lankford. She is survived by four children and spouses, LaDonna and James Watson of Franklin, GA, and Andrea Lankford, Len Harris and Fay and Brian Knight all of McMinnville; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Lorance, Carolyn Delong and Dean Muise; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 in High's Chapel with Kevin Lorance and Garland Lorance officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High's.
