Eleanor Kaye Smith Clement

February 20, 1941 — March 5, 2018

Eleanor (Kaye) Smith Clement was born in McMinnville, TN and died peacefully at her home from an extended illness. She was preceded in death by parents, Ray Pitson Smith, Sr. and Sue Elizabeth Fann Smith; and two brothers, Ray Pitson Smith, Jr. and Winston Douglas Smith.She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Jane Clement of McMinnville and Jamie Clement Scott of Knoxville, TN; three grandsons, Lane Clement McCoy of Memphis, TN and Jack Scott and Sam Scott both of Knoxville, TN; sister, Mary Elaine Smith Palmer of Harriman, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive.She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a graduate of The University of Tennessee in Knoxville and began her career as a teacher. She retired from Tennsmith, a family business founded by her father, Ray Smith, Sr. She was a vibrant fan of UT football, an avid reader, and loved nature and being outdoors.Ms. Clement will be cremated per her wishes, with no visitation planned.
