McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Emogene Rutledge Magness, age 91, was born November 21, 1932 and died January 19, 2024 at her residence following a brief illness.
A retired Vice-President and branch manager with City Bank & Trust Company and of the Baptist faith, she was the daughter of the late James Newton and Mattie Lou Rogers Rutledge. She was married to Thomas Carl Magness on June 18, 1987, who preceded her in death in 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, James Elbert Rutledge and Everett Hugh Rutledge; sisters, Thelma Lorene Breedlove and Betty Jewell Grissom; nephew, Gary (Janice) Breedlove; brother-in-law, Edgar Breedlove and sister-in-law, Charity Rutledge.
Mrs. Magness is survived by nieces and nephews, Donna Gail Rutledge of Campaign, TN, Cynthia (Ronnie) McCormick of Rock Island, TN, Sidney (Frances) Rutledge and Rhonda (Tony) Foster, both of McMinnville, TN, LaFonda (Mark) Rudd of Lascasses, TN, Chad (Stephanie) Rutledge and Steve (Faye) Breedlove, both of McMinnville, TN, Darrell (Stephanie) Grissom of Pulaski, TN, Deana (Steve) Wood of Alabama and Debbie (Kevin) Gregory of Pigeon Forge, TN. She had several beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews that she was more than just an aunt to, as well as many cherished friends that were like family to her.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN with Steve Breedlove officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home.
