Evelyn Ann Griffith Wanamaker

Evelyn Ann Griffith Wanamaker, age 85, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, was born November 26, 1935 and died November 10, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a homemaker, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church for 58 years, and the daughter of the late James Hubert and Alta Johnson Griffith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Joe Frederick Wanamaker; brothers, Harold and Cal Griffith; sister, Betty Eaton; and grandson, Ben Barrow. Mrs. Wanamaker is survived by children and spouses, Debbie (Bob) Barrow, Greg (Dawn) Wanamaker, Steve Wanamaker, and Greta Knowles (Corkey) all of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Chad (Marcie) Gillis, Brooke (Kevin) Caraway, Shelby (Chase) Judkins, Katie (Slayden) Rogers, Logan Wanamaker, Sarah Knowles (Christyan), and Marah Wanamaker (Justin); great-grandchildren, Gentry, Autry, Maggie, Maddux, Kenzley, Kiley, and Keelyn; special sister and caregiver, Lola Griffith; sister-in-law, Peggy Griffith; and special caregivers, Nacey Tate and Lily Fults. Several nieces, nephews, and loving neighbors also survive. She was a babysitter to many children and a loving mother and grandmother who loved cooking and caring for others. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County with Danny Moore and Mark Foster officiating. Friends are to meet at cemetery.
