Evelyn May Foreman

Evelyn May Wilson Foreman, age 96, a Warren County resident and Indianapolis, Indiana native was born May 30, 1923 and passed away October 23, 2019. She was the daughter of the late William Orville “Johnny” and Martha Alice Brown Johnston. Evelyn was born and raised in Indianapolis. She met her husband when she was fifteen and he was eighteen. They married May 3, 1940 before he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Deopham Green in Norfolk England and Russia during WWII as a B17 Squadron Commander. They were each other’s life-long love. She was the Valedictorian of Shortridge High School in 1940 and turned down a full scholarship to Butler University to marry. She remained a life-long student, worked in real estate and banking, and was a Cub Scout, Brownie Scout, and Girl Scout leader. She taught Sunday School for many years at Salem Lutheran Church in New Augusta, IN. Hers was a life well lived, choices well made, and a race finished well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Lt. Colonel Gilbert Leroy Foreman, Sr. and son, Gilbert Leroy “Terry” Foreman, Jr. Mrs. Foreman is survived by daughters, Carol Alice Foreman, McMinnville, TN, and Carolyn Jane Foreman (Lynn Loves) Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Alice Kay (Jim) Dzurovcak, Indiana, Anastasia (Dean) Mitchell, Texas, Angela Dawn Foreman, Friendship, IN, and Jeremiah (Kerry) Foreman, Monument, CO; great-grandchildren, Alexis Mitchell, Texas, Max Mitchell, Texas, Rachel (Sam) Moehle, Indianapolis, IN, Michael Andrew Wright, Indiana, and Jeffery David Wright, Indiana; great-great grandchildren; Adilyn Sparrow, Anderson Sparrow, Kathryn Moehle, Sophia Moehle, Cole Foreman, Maili Foreman, and Alba Beverly Wright; and adopted by heart grandchild; Sheila Lynn Richardson. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Crown Hill Cemetery Chapel in Indianapolis, Indiana. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
