Evelyn Ruth Cooper

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, Evelyn Ruth Cooper, age 83, was born February 25, 1939 and died September 25, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness.           

A retired seamstress from Vigorelli Hosiery Mill and a member of The Vine Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. and Lorene Farmer Morton. She was married to Lellon Royce Cooper on June 30, 1957 who preceded her in death on October 23, 1993.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Dickie Morton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arvin Lawayne and Dora Cooper and sister-in-law, Carolyn Green Cooper.

Ms. Cooper is survived by one son, Chris (Pam) Cooper of McMinnville, TN; two granddaughters, Ashlyn (Elliott) Kelley and Rachel Cooper, both of McMinnville, TN; one great-grandson, Ridge Kelley; one brother, Freddie (Diane) Morton of McMinnville, TN; sister-in-law: Joyce (Sid) Matney of McMinnville, TN; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Marie Smedley, Charlotte Huff and Gail Potter.

Funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Phillip Rowland and Greg Moser officiating. Burial will follow at New Bybee Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
