Faye Tate Prater, age 76, a McMinnville, TN resident and Giles County, TN native was born April 14, 1941 and died February 28, 2018 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was a retired food service employee with the Warren County School System, member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Roy Forrest and Macie Dee Colvett Tate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Curtis Prater; second husband, Ernest Smith; and daughter, Debra Faye Prater. Mrs. Prater is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Keaton Graham and Jeff, Stephanie George and Vicki Roberts and Derrick all of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Candace Keaton Pryor and Cody, Tyler Keaton and Shelby Parsley, Dylan George, Curtlan George and Layne Roberts all of McMinnville; six great-grandchildren, Presley Bonner, Carter Keaton, Nash Pryor, Brody Keaton, Jett Pryor and Navaeh Pryor; three step-grandchildren, Daniel Gentry, Kyle Graham and Katie and Kelly Roberson and Chris; three step-great-grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Ann Burch of McMinnville, Sue Talley and Wendell of Nashville, TN, David Paul Tate and Sandy, Larry Tate, Connie Tate and Wanda Tanner and Laymon all of McMinnville. Several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 in High’s Chapel with Wendell Talley to officiate. Interment will follow in Ivy Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at High’s.
