Fred Johnson Stepp, age 69, a Warren County, TN resident and native was born February 11, 1950 and passed away February 20, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam, retired employee of McMinnville Housing Authority, member of Covenant Fellowship Church and son of the late William Gordon Stepp, Sr. and Wilma Irene Nunley Stepp. Mr. Stepp was a Purple Heart Recipient and former member of the Rescue Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Billye Allene Davis Herman; and brother, William Gordon Stepp, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Stepp of McMinnville; sister, Shirley Stepp Denton of McMinnville; children, Chantel Saylors of McMinnville, Jeff Stepp of Shelbyville, Jennifer Herndon of Smithville and Ronnie Lewis of McMinnville; grandchildren, Ashlie Roland, Ashley Saylors, Jordan Roland, Lucas Stepp, Lexie Saylors, Cameron Stepp, Savannah Saylors, Dylan Stepp and Keira Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Covenant Fellowship Church with Dr. Dean Northcutt to officiate. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm Saturday until the time of service at the Church. There will be no service or visitation at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Donations may be dropped off at High Funeral Home.
