Fred Rigsby, Jr.

Fred Rigsby, Jr. of the Rocky River Community, age 94, was born May 23, 1930 and died July 24, 2024 at his residence following a brief illness. 

A farmer and member of Mt. Elim Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Fred and Hallie Pack Rigsby. He was married to Mary Rogers Rigsby on September 17, 1949 who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Phyllis Delong; brother, Earl Rigsby and grandchildren, Trent Delong and Mark Rigsby.

Mr. Rigsby is survived by son, Dwight (Sandra) Rigsby of Rock Island, TN; daughter, Carleen Lawson of the Rocky River Community; son-in-law, Alvin Lawson; grandsons, Matthew (Stacey) Rigsby and Travis Delong; great-grandchildren, Katie Fults, Mackenzie Delong and Luke and Macey Rigsby; great-great-grandchild, Lincoln Fults; brother, Harold Rigsby and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday July 26, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Willard Ralph, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
