McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Fred Wayne Clendenon, age 91, was born May 27, 1930 and died July 9, 2021 at his home following an extended illness. A United States Army veteran of Korea, retired pipe fitter from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, and member of St. Mary’s Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Livy and Emma Gladys Turner Clendenon. He was married to Mildred Ella Dillmore Clendenon on May 26, 1956 who preceded him in death on July 27, 2005. In addition to parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Douglas Fred Clendenon; sister, Melba Clendenon Cathcart; and brother, Joe Ross Clendenon. Mr. Clendenon is survived by son, Gary Wayne Clendenon of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Clendenon of McMinnville, TN, Kyle Clendenon of Austin, TX, and Callie (Tyler) Hargrove of Gallatin, TN; brother-in-law, William H. Cathcart of the Irving College Community, TN; daughter-in-law, Darlene Turnbow Clendenon of Fayetteville, TN; sister-in-law, Gladys Cantrell Clendenon; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Graveside service and interment will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2021 at Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
