Freddy Black

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Freddy Black, age 70, was born March 8, 1950 and died August 2, 2020 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A former employee of Dr. Pepper, Coca-Cola and owner of Major Clean-Up and member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Herman and Minnie Wood Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Renee Black; siblings, Lucille and husband, H.C. Hudson, Benny Black, Sr., John Black, Michael Black, Sue Ellen Black and Danny Ray Black and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wallace and Polly Woodlee. Freddy was married to Joy Woodlee Black of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stephen Black and Lucas Black both of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden and Liam Black; siblings and their spouses, Shirley and Paul Starkey, William and Teresa Black, Gary and Linda Black, David Black, Peggy and James Earls, Richard and Gennean Black all of McMinnville, Betty "Tiny" and Jr. Griffith of Smithville, TN and Roger and Jean Black of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Gary Jackson, Nadine Black and Linda Black all of McMinnville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Keith and Linda McBride of Smyrna, TN and Randy and Sharon Walker of McMinnville and faithful companion, Rascal. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Smyrna Cemetery with Bro. Ray Weddington officiating. The family requests that everyone wear a mask at the graveside service. There will be no visitation at High's. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
