Lifelong Warren County, TN resident Gail McGiboney Askew, age 84, was born April 30, 1939 and passed away March 26, 2024 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. A retired accounting associate, she was the daughter of the late Omar and Kathleen Haston McGiboney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Rector "R.L." and Violet Hitchcock Haston and Robert William and Millie Baker McGiboney and sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara McGiboney (Charles) Reynolds and Janice McGiboney (Jim) Howard. Gail accepted Christ as Savior at age 9 and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. As a devoted Christian, she stayed active in all church programs and activities through the years and was a part of the First Baptist Church adult choir for 50 plus years. She was a member of Business and Professional Women's Club and was selected as McMinnville's Business and Professional Woman of the year in 1975. For five years, she was the county representative for the American Cancer Society. She is survived by nieces, Rhonda (Fred) Martin and Peri (Woody) Fowler; nephews, Ryan (Leslie) Reynolds and Derek Howard; great-nieces, Megan (Charlie) Clarke, Emma (Holden) Baker and Kodi (Jason) Andrasko; great-nephews, Garrett Martin, Ridge Reynolds and Kurt (Veronica) Kesey; great-great-nieces, Lileigh Andrasko and Collins Baker and great-great-nephews, Braylen Andrasko and Collins and Martin Clarke. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Jeff Owens to officiate. There will be no service or visitation at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Library.
