Gearldean Madewell

Rock Island resident and Warren County native, Gearldean Madewell, age 73, was born March 29, 1951 and died February 14, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following an extended illness.

A retired employee of Oster, she was the daughter of the late EJ and Kathleen Davis Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Cecil Roberts, sisters, Carolyn Roberts and Brenda Koontz and nephew, Shaun Koontz.

Mrs. Madewell was married August 24, 1968 to Gordon Wayne Madewell of Rock Island who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Rebecca Bond of Rock Island and Deanna Vaughn and Beverly (Dustin) Cannon both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kinsley Bond, Payton Strang, Noah Bryson, Malachi Bryson, Lacey Cannon and Aaron Cannon; step-brother, Floyd Neal of DeKalb County, TN; sisters, Janet (Daryl) Trapp and Donna (Buddy) Robertson both of DeKalb County and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Paul Dunlap to officiate. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek in Warren County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
