Georgia Francisco Peden

Georgia Francisco Peden, age 83, passed away at her home on October 22, 2022. Mrs. Peden was born May 13, 1939 in Nashville, TN, and was the daughter of the late Loretta Cantrell Wood and Chattom Wood. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Francisco and her second husband, William Peden; brother, C. Allen Wood; sisters-in-law, Jewel Wood, Jennie Wood, and Linda Freeman and brother-in-law, Pete Peden.

Mrs. Peden is survived by her daughter, Anita Kirby (Terry) of McMinnville; grandsons, Brad Kirby of McMinnville and Kyle Kirby of Murfreesboro; three great-grandchildren, Logan of Knoxville, Ariana and Elizabeth Kirby of McMinnville; special niece, Candy Ware (Eddie) of McMinnville; step-sons, Steven Peden of Ohio and Allen Peden of Texas; brother-in-law, Benny Francisco (Anna Ruth) of Church Hill and Mike Freeman of Kingsport; sisters-in- law, Bettye Creasy of Orange Park, FL, Ann Duncan of Church Hill and Martha Peden, who was also her best friend and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Mrs. Peden was a member of the Church of Christ at Central. She enjoyed reading, antiquing and traveling. She had a giving heart which she exhibited throughout her life and was well loved by everyone that knew her.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Avalon Hospice and the wonderful staff who cared for her. Also, a special thank you to Lindsey Terry, who sat with her frequently.

A memorial service will be held at Central Church of Christ on Saturday, October 29 at 3:00 p.m. with Doug Bost and Dan Jones officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
