McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Gerald Winford Hillis, age 79, was born November 11, 1945 and died November 22, 2024 at his residence from the results of pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, retired vice president and manager of B&P Lamp Company and member of Friendship Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Lyndon Wilson and Wilda Louise McGee Hillis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Sandra Kaye Taylor Hillis and son, Michael Hillis.
Mr. Hillis is survived by daughter, Michelle Hillis (Michael) Morgan of Mt. Juliet, TN; step-sons, Blake (Tonya) Crawford and Justin (Keri) Crawford both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Christopher) Harper, Austin Hillis and Stephanie Bates, Alaina Morris, Matthew Morris, Morgan Crawford (Bryan) Bouldin, Rylie Crawford, Myka Crawford, Shayla (Jacob) Bain, Ryden Crawford, Aria Crawford, Collins Crawford, Logan (Hannah) Hill and Ashlyn Hill; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Donnie Hillis; nephews, Donald (Tish) Hillis and Chad (Leigh-Anne) Hillis and several loved great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Trent Kell, Jason Brown and Rickey Magness to officiate. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at High’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
