Gladys Marie Henry Jacobs

Born February 26, 1930 in Liberty, TN (DeKalb County) and died March 4, 2022 Married to the late Harris Clark Jacobs, Jr. for over 52 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Elisha N. and Etta Mae Clark Henry and brothers, Ernest Henry, Carson Henry, Herbert Henry, Wendell “Hank” Henry and Carl Henry. Also preceded in death by beloved sister, Velma Henry Rayburn. A long-time, active member of Morrison United Methodist Church, Mrs. Jacobs was Secretary at Morrison School for over 25 years. After retirement, she volunteered at the Morrison Library; she was an officer in the Morrison United Methodist Women; a member of the former Morrison Ladies Study and Parliamentary Club and was named Morrison Ruritan Citizen of the Year in 2010. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Shannon Jacobs of McMinnville; daughter, Patti Jacobs Zimmerman, Nashville, TN; grandson, John (Kelly) Jacobs and great-grandchildren Harper and Hadley Jacobs of Thompson Station, TN. She is also survived by one brother, Peter (Eleanor) Henry of Florence, AL; niece, Marietta Henry of Rockford, IL; nephews, Scott (Michelle) Henry of Huntsville, AL and Mike (Wanda) Henry of Burlison, TX, several Henry cousins, numerous Jacobs relatives, her church family whom she loved and many, many friends. Service to be held at Morrison United Methodist Church, 340 W. Maple St., Morrison, TN on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. with Paul Tramel and Lanny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Morrison Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the church.
