Glenn Argo Rogers, 36, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 10, 2021. A native of Warren County, Mr. Rogers was born December 27, 1984. He is the son of Richard Glenn (Ricky) and Marsha Argo Rogers. In addition to his loving parents, Glenn is survived by sister Sally Belinda Rogers (Jake Canull) of Nashville; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Argo of McMinnville; paternal grandmother, Wilma Rogers-McAfee of Morrison; and very, special friend Grace Woodard of Clovis, New Mexico. Glenn was a cradle roll member of First Baptist Church. He was baptized there at age 9. He loved reading the Bible and his favorite hymn was, “I’ll Fly Away.” Glenn grew up beside his dad on the family farm that was a dairy when he was little. He pushed his red riding tractor through every mud puddle he could find. His dream was to become a dairy farmer again one day. The family farm, Roger’s Home Plate Farm, was recently recognized as a Century Farm, notating 100 years of continuous agriculture production. Glenn served as a Service Aide 1 at the University of Tennessee Space Institute for the past three years. Prior to that, he was a maintenance technician for the City of Tullahoma, TN. Glenn had a deep love for tractors, turning the soil, and raising cattle. He loved the smell of fresh turned earth. He had helped the farmers in Morrison and Woodbury areas milk their cows. He had worked for R&B Nursery in Smithville and a summer with the City of McMinnville in its Urban Forestry Department before leaving for college. He called his old International Tractor, Abraham. Glenn enjoyed baseball and softball. He played baseball on several traveling teams growing up, and also for the Warren County High School before continuing his career at Motlow State Community College where he graduated. An excellent cook, he spent some time on the grill at Prater’s Bar-B-Que. He loved gardening and helped can the produce of the harvest. He loved hunting and fishing with his dad and friends. He loved hiking at Fall Creek Falls, fishing from the cabin porch, and seeing all the wildlife. He had a collection of arrowheads that he had found and enjoyed researching their origins. He truly was a fan of the outdoors. Glenn is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Argo; paternal grandfather, Leslie Glenn Rogers; uncle, John Kenneth Sherrill; and dear first cousin, Jody Savage. Glenn was loved by so many. He had a wonderful smile and will be sadly missed. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Bo Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. No visitation will be held at High’s. The family request that everyone wear mask and practice social distancing.
