Gloria Fay Jones, age 86, of McMinnville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at Webb House Retirement Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 22, 1938, in McMinnville, Gloria lived a life rooted in love, creativity, and faith. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be remembered most for the warmth she brought into every room and the many lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Lewis Jones of McMinnville, TN; her brother, Lavoy Grove of McMinnville, TN; and her parents, Clabe and Mildred Eloise Grove, also of McMinnville, TN.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Pelham (John) of McMinnville, TN, and Donna Johnson (McCaw) of Ridgetop, TN; her grandchildren, Zach (Diana) Pelham of Nashville, TN, Whitney (Dean) Blankenship of McMinnville, TN, Weston (Sarah) Johnson of Cookeville, TN, and Parker Johnson of Ridgetop, TN; great-grandchildren, Abby and Cooper Blankenship of McMinnville, TN; her sister, Christine Mitchell of Smithville, TN, and brother, Gary (Sandra) Grove of Soddy Daisy, TN. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
A talented homemaker, Gloria was well known for her beautiful custom draperies and exceptional cake decorating skills. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McMinnville, where her faith was a steady foundation throughout her life.
Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures—camping trips, fishing with her grandchildren, crafting and sewing projects, attending auctions, and playing cards with her high school friends and cousins. But above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
Gloria’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and joy. Guided by a steadfast heart and a gentle spirit, she brought light wherever she went. Her laughter filled every room, and her creativity left lasting impressions on those who knew her. She had a way of making others feel seen, loved, and welcome- gifts that will be remembered always. While she is now at peace in her heavenly home and made whole once again with her Lord, her spirit will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends for generations to come.
