Gordon Cooper Mason

McMinnville, TN resident and White County, TN native Gordon Cooper Mason, age 83, was born June 15, 1938 and died December 16, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas River park Hospital in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. Retired from tool and die at A.O. Smith and a member of Oakland Church of Christ, he was the son of the late E.E. “Pete” and Mary Vann Halterman Mason. He was married to Bobbie Jo Mason of McMinnville, TN on November 29, 1958. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Jeffrey Cooper Mason; three brothers, William Harold Mason, John Hill Mason, and E.C. Mason; and nephew, Timmy Mason. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mason is survived by three grandchildren, Ryan (Shaye) Mason, Stacy (Dustin) Cherry, and Shea (Jeremiah) Hodges, all of McMinnville, TN; six great-grandchildren, Dale Robinson, Ainsley Hodges, C.J. Owens, Sylar Hodges, Charleigh Gaines, and Kayleigh Hodges; sister-in-law, Martha Ann Mason; brothers-in-law, Jim (Carolyn) Powers and Peanut (Connie) Powers; sister-in-law, Susie (Charles) Sparkman; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Bob Deason and Jon Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
