McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Hannah Elise Greene Davis, age 91, was born December 8, 1930 and died June 1, 2022 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. A retired assistant in special education for the Warren County School System and a member of the Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Rachel Neal Greene. She was married to John Rayford Davis on November 24, 1949, who preceded her in death on April 2, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Jan Davis; brothers, Alton, Johnny, G.B. and Ken Greene and sisters, Wilma Pistole and Melba Griffith. Hannah began to seek ways to serve the handicapped as soon as it was learned her daughter Jan was to be mentally challenged. She was cited by the Tennessee Governor’s Committee on Employment of the Handicapped for "Outstanding and Exceptional Contributions in Advancing Employment of the Handicapped." Ms. Davis is survived by, sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Pirtle, Kay Worzek and Linda (Jerry) Davenport all of McMinnville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Fred (Faye) Greene of McMinnville, TN and sister-in-law, Suzi Greene of McMinnville, TN and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Jerry Davenport and Jason Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Memorial contributions may be made to McMinnville Special Games c/o High's.
