Helen Marie Barnes

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Niles, MI native Helen Marie Barnes, age 99, was born August 31, 1925 and died September 2, 2024 at her residence following a short illness. 

A retired employee with Genesco and member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Ethyl McAfee Allen. Mrs. Barnes was married to Sidney Irving Barnes who preceded her in death September 7, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Theodora Harmon and brothers, Vernon Allen and Kenneth Allen.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by children, Allen Barnes of Franklin, TN and Pam Edwards of Murfreesboro; sister, Shirley (Mac) McCartney of Franklin; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Ronnie, Debbie and Phoenix Rigsby and Pat Crick.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Cody Boston to officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at High's.
