Hester Myers Young

Hester Myers Young, age 85, a McMinnville, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native was born August 22, 1936 and died August 29, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford following a sudden illness. She was a self-employed, a member of the Non-denominational faith, and the daughter of the late Luther and Deamie Fults Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Charles Linberg Young; son, Joe Myers; sisters, Tressie Bell McCormick, Rita McCormick, Clercy Thatch, Hessie Myers, and Marie Carlson; brothers, Zettie Myers, Frank Myers, Everett Myers, and Jack Myers. Mrs. Young is survived by children, Linda Richardson of Rock Island, TN, Darrell Myers of Hillsboro, TN, Bennie Adams, Tommy Adams, Jean Young, Melinda Stembridge, Sherry Wellman, Gloria Fier, and Jennifer Hayes all of McMinnville, TN; twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Myers and Kenneth Myers; and special friend, Betty Hasty of Knoxville, TN. Many nieces and nephews also survive. One of mom’s things she would say to comfort her loved ones, “No need to worry, if it’s your time to go, it’s your time to go”. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Dana Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Young Cemetery in DeKalb County. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. Per family request, they highly recommend that everyone wear mask.
