Homer Williams, age 78, a Morrison, TN resident and Putnam County native was born November 9, 1939 and passed away September 22, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.He was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, retired minister and active member of Hubbard’s Cove Church of God, retired employee of Carrier and son of the late James Arnton and Lona Belle Pullum Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mullins Williams; brothers, Bill and Donald Williams; sisters, Laura Ruth Sanders and Naomi Williams; and several half-brothers and sisters.Mr. Williams is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie and Charles Dotson of Morrison and Stephanie and Jeff Davis of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Michelle Sanders of Washington State; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Lynell and Mary Williams of Morrison; several nieces and nephews; and special niece, Offie Barnes of McMinnville.Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in High’s Chapel with Jack Nance and Kevin York to officiate. Interment will follow in Stroud Cemetery with military grave rites conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
