Houston Grissom

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Houston Grissom, age 89, was born August 6, 1934 and died November 6, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following a sudden illness.           

A retired colander operator with Ohio Rubber Company and a member of McMinnville Church of God, he was the son of the late William Hoyt and Maude Pauline Ware Grissom. He was married to Linnie Mae Catron Grissom on July 31, 1954 who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother and brother-in-law. 

Mr. Grissom is survived by two sons, Clayton Grissom of Hamilton, OH and Jeffery Grissom of Fort Myers, FL; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Morris (Ellen) Grissom of St. Petersburg, FL and sister, Wanda Ruth Cantrell of St. Petersburg, FL. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Tommy Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
