Jack Houston Locke, Sr.

Jack Houston Locke, Sr., age 86, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born May 14, 1934 and died March 2, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro following a brief illness. He retired from Ekco Glaco, LTD in 1998 after forty years of service as Vice President of National Accounts, was a United States Army veteran, a member of Central Church of Christ, and the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Marcie Lee Sparkman Locke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William Ned Locke, and Otis Eugene Locke; and sisters, Eula Bryant, Floal Delaney, Anna Duke, Pauline Holmes, and Roberta Bell. Mr. Locke was married October 28, 1961 to Carol Ann Szymski of Chicago, IL. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Cathy Locke, Jr. of Franklin, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Lea Ann and Chuck Renner of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Madison Renner, Michael Renner, and Elizabeth Locke; brother, John V. Locke of Greenbriar, TN; and sister, Mary Lou McCollum of Nashville, TN. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Ben Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. Military grave rites will be conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173 Honor Guard. Social distancing and wearing of masks are strongly encouraged. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gospel of Christ or Central Church of Christ Benevolence Fund.
