James Edward Ledbetter

Morrison, TN resident and Smithville, TN native James Edward Ledbetter, age 79, was born June 15, 1945 and died November 16, 2024 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following an extended illness.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, retired employee of Carrier and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Ridley and Marjorie Bandy Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Greg Ledbetter; father, James Herman Young and siblings, Betty Phelps, Mary Seay, Susie Carter, Frances Frazier, Doris Golden and James Nelson Young.

Mr. Ledbetter is survived by children, Sherry (James) Martin of Morrison and Josh Ledbetter of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Chris Ledbetter of Key West, FL; grandchildren, Zack Martin, Devin Martin, Chelsea Martin, Alyssa (Jaylon) Greene, Mady (Jonathan) Rachon, Kadence Ledbetter, Kaden Ledbetter and Caden Drake and sister, Shirley Rorex of Arkansas.

Per his wishes, Mr. Ledbetter will be cremated. There will be no service or visitation held at High’s.
