James Paul Jones, age 97, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native was born May 19, 1923 and passed July 25, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN, following an extended illness. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, retired from Boyd Brothers Nursery, Stanley Hillis Trucking, and Jewell Hale Farms, a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, a long-time member of the Smyrna Cemetery Committee, and the son of the late Henry Bryan and Martha Powell Jones. He was married December 24, 1949 to Georgia Mae Hale Jones who preceded him in death on June 26, 2015. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by daughter, Jimmie Knight; brothers, Billy Jones, Carl and Betty Jones; sister, Virginia Jones, Kathryn and Beno Akins; niece, Linda Moore and nephews, Mike and David Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by children, Judy and Anthony Tittsworth and Lisa and Jeff Hill all of McMinnville, TN; son-in-law, Elton Knight of McMinnville, TN; four grandchildren and spouses, Becky Tittsworth of McMinnville, TN, Travis and Pepper Tittsworth of Prattville, AL, Kelli and Charlie Adams of McMinnville, TN, and Aaron and Jessica Knight of McMinnville, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brad Ayers, Tristan Dawson, Trayton and Tanner Tittsworth, Hunter and Tyler Adams, and Andrew Knight; one great-great grandchild, Lorelai Mae Ayers; nieces, Juan Milstead, Cynthia and Jimmie Gribble, and Tina Henderson; nephews, Carl Jones, Bill and Barbara Jones, and Kevin and Tish Jones; sister-in-law, Bunny Jones; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jewell and Matilda Hale, Glen and Pam Hale, and Waymon and Melba Hale all of McMinnville, TN; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. A graveside service and interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County with Bill Walkup and Ronald Powell officiating.
