Morrison, TN resident and Browntown, TN native James Perkins, age 83, was born March 8, 1939 and died suddenly August 28, 2022 at his residence.
A retired assembly employee from The Foundry and a member of the Church of Christ at Hiwassee and Lane Street Church of Christ in Manchester, TN, he was the son of the late Henry and Ella Mae Crisp Perkins. He was married to Rosa Perkins of Morrison, TN in 1964. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Annie Mae Bean and Helen Davis; brother, Lane Perkins; son, Todd Perkins and daughter, Laverne Perkins.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Perkins is survived by nieces and nephews, Jalane Grayson, Troy Perkins, Damon Perkins, Darin Perkins, Angie Perkins, Mandi Perkins, Alan Perkins, Shana Perkins, Michelle Eddings, Nathan Perkins, Michael Perkins, Kellie Whitaker and Valerie Womack; sister-in-law, Brenda Perkins; a host of grandkids, cousins and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Chris Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Elamtown Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
