James Robert Norris

McMinnville resident and Warren County, TN native James Robert Norris, age 89, was born June 6, 1932 and died December 30, 2021, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Norris was a retired employee of Century Electric, Randy’s Matt Service and owner of Norris Lawn Service. He was a member of Jerico Church of Christ and the son of the late Elbert Lee and Mollie Roberts Norris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife Gertrude Manus Norris and sisters, Frances Scarscella, Martha Jane Norris and Geneva Fisher. Mr. Norris is survived by wife, Shirley Norris of Rock Island, TN; daughter, Deborah (Randall) Gann of Morrison, TN; step-children, Randy (Susan) Jaco of the Jacksboro Community, Vicki (Jeff) Martin of Lascassas, TN and Monty (Jamye) Jaco of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Derrick (Chelsea) Gann of McMinnville, TN and Tim (Amanda) Gann of Morrison, TN; step-grandchildren, Candice (Kyle) Longmire of Manchester, TN, Craig (Jamie) Jaco of McMinnville, TN, Micah Martin of Lascassas, TN, Katelin (Hunter) Ward of Woodbury, TN, Hunter Bernhardt of the Jacksboro Community, Emily Jaco of McMinnville, TN and David Jaco of McMinnville, TN; three great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; brother, William “Meb” (Willene) Norris of McMinnville, TN and sisters Cora (Ronnie) Perry of Rock Island, TN and Joan Dorto of Chattanooga, TN. Graveside service and interment will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with William Shockley and Samuel Bain officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at High’s.
