Jane Roehl Bragg, age 95, of McMinnville, TN died February 23, 2025. She was born in Knoxville, TN on July 5, 1929, to Jay Alexander Roehl and Dorothy Beeman Roehl. She was a graduate of National Cathedral School, Washington, D.C. in 1947 and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was an active member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She married Thomas McQuiddy Bragg of McMinnville, TN on October 7, 1949 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Knoxville, TN.
She was a founding member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, McMinnville, in 1952. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed world traveling and playing golf and bridge. She volunteered many of her senior years reading and telling stories to a Comprehensive Development Class in the Warren County School System.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas McQuiddy Bragg; sister, Dorothy Roehl Cook and brother, Jay Roehl both of Knoxville, TN; sister, Eleanor Roehl Van Cleave of Nashville and grandchildren, Dorothy Ann "D'Ann" Bragg Schmitt, Caroline Rhea Smith and Benjamin James Smith.
She is survived by children, Jay Miller Bragg (Lynn) of McMinnville, Dorothy "Bee" Bragg Pettersen of Nashville and Thomas McQuiddy Bragg, Jr. (Beth) of Franklin, TN; grandchild, Jay Alexander Bragg; great-grandchild, Bethany Grace Birdwell and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 105 Edgewood Ave., McMinnville, TN with Father Charlie McClain to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church. There will be no service or visitation at High’s. Pall bearers for the service will be John Cook, Bob Van Cleave, David Smith, Bill Van Cleave, Jay Slatton, Bill Boyd and Alex Bragg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vanderbilt Monroe Carroll Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Shriners Children's Hospital, Lexington, KY or a charity of your choice.
