Janice Faye Stubblefield Prater

McMinnville resident and Ardmore, AL native Janice Faye Stubblefield Prater, age 82, was born September 29, 1942 and died February 2, 2025, at Smith County Health and Rehab in Carthage, TN following an extended illness.

A former Animal Control Officer with the City of McMinnville and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Carl and Nancy Evelyn Malone Stubblefield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Russell Irwin Prater and brother, Jerry Stubblefield.

Ms. Prater is survived by sons, Kenny (Krystal) Prater and Jeff (Samantha) Prater, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Russell (Sara) Prater and Adam Prater; great-granddaughter, Iris Prater; twin sister, Kaye Stewart of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at High’s.
