Jerry Gaylen Davis, age 72, a McMinnville, TN resident and Ava, MO native was born March 9, 1947 and passed away December 1, 2019 at St. Thomas West following a brief illness. A retired sales manager with Golden Flake and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late George Philip and Lotus Deckard Davis. He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Elmer and Linnie Davis and Andy and Ethel Deckard; uncles, Kenneth, James, Noel, Paul, and Leo Davis; cousins, Tim Davis, Larry Davis, and Kevin Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by sister, Thala Davis of Atlanta, GA; best friends like brothers and sister, David and Danny Bain and Carol Guillot; step-daughter, Tracy (Sydney) Radson, of Little Rock, AR; uncle, Franklin (Betty Lou) Davis of Ozark, AR; aunt, Mary Ruth Davis, of Morrison, TN and many cousins, Lew Davis, Allan Davis, Melody Davis, Donna (Max Northcutt) Solomon, Jimmy (Harriett) Davis, Patti (Bill) Harris, Sherry Davis, Mark (Renee) Davis, Mike Davis, Joy (David) Hyden, Marsha Vandiver, and Terry Davis. Many other cousins also survive. He played basketball at Morrison where he graduated with honors in 1965 and was a member of the Beta Club. He attended Freed-Hardeman and MTSU. He loved to deer hunt and was an avid sports fan and loved to watch sports on t.v. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in High’s Chapel with Tony Lawrence and Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
