Jerry King

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, Jerry William King, age 69, was born December 15, 1950 and passed away October 30, 2020 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. Retired from Carrier Corporation, a United States Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam, and a member of East End Drive Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Ned Samuel and Sarah Francis Brown King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy May Carr, Jane Russell, and Christine Crisp. He is survived by one son and spouse, Michael Ray and Robin King of Avon, IN; two grandchildren, Brock King and Sydney King, both of Avon, IN; three brothers, Ned Junior King of McMinnville, TN, James Robert King of Shelbyville, TN and Willie Bob King of TN; and three sisters and spouses, Betty Sue Goodrich of Tullahoma, TN, Mary Ann and Charles Johnson of Cleveland, TN, and Martha and Randy Herkley of Chattanooga, TN. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 in High’s Chapel with Bro. Eugene Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Warren County, TN with full military grave rites administered by American Legion Post 173 Honor Guard.
