McMinnville resident and Dunlap, TN native Jimmy Dishman, age 83, was born December 3, 1941 and died March 15, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness.
A retired nurseryman and contractor and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Tess and Margie Cleo Hitchcock Dishman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Rayburn, Oval, Olen, Lonnie, Eddie and Terry Dishman; sisters, Linda Campbell and Carolyn Dishman and granddaughter, Katie Dishman.
He was married to Betty Lois Butcher Dishman of McMinnville in 1981. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dishman is survived by two daughters, Beverly Ann (Allen) Carpenter and Pamela Sue (Gary) England, both of McMinnville; son, Jimmy Duane (Kim) Dishman of McMinnville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Jane Keener and Shirley Ann (Donnie) Johnston, both of Dunlap, TN; brother, Larry Dishman; three sisters-in-law, Amanda Dishman and June Dishman, both of Dunlap, TN and Linda Cagle; brother-in-law, Clyde Butcher and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County with Jackie Matheny officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
