Morrison, TN resident Jimmy Parson, age 68, was born August 31, 1955 and died February 7, 2024 at NHC McMinnville following an extended illness. He was the owner of The Turf Company, where he installed turf on numerous golf courses throughout the U.S., including Willowbrook Golf Course, Richland Country Club and The Governor’s Club. He was the son of the late Dewey and Barbara Lightfoote Parson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy and Gary Parson and father-in-law Carl Glenn Bouldin. He was married to Carla Bouldin Parson of Morrison on October 22, 1983. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parson is survived by daughters, Brittany (John) Ley and Ashlyn (Jacob) Lee, all of Manchester, TN; grandchild, Emory Ley (the light of his world); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Betty Parsons of Manchester, TN; sister-in-law, Connie Bouldin Patrick of Viola, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles also survive as well as his Bascom United Methodist Church Family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at NHC Healthcare, the doctors and nurses at St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital and Jamie Herriman at NHC Healthcare. Per Mr. Parson’s wishes, he will be cremated. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in High’s Chapel with John Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will occur at a later date in Viola Cemetery.
