McMinnville, TN resident and native Jimmy Ray Scott, age 71, was born October 25, 1952 and died July 23, 2024 at his residence following a brief illness. 

The retired owner of Jim's Floor Covering and a member of the Baptist church, he was the son of the late Clarence "Buster" and Ida Lucille Nunley Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Barnes.

Mr. Scott was married December 20, 1974 to Marla Scott of McMinnville who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Lori (Mark) Foster of McMinnville; grandchildren, Tyler (Haley) Brady, Savannah Foster and Elizabeth (Jon) Morris; special grandchildren, Kaydence Wiser and Owen Wiser; siblings, Larry (Joyce) Scott, Brenda Mullican and Roxanne (Hugh) Barnes; special friends, Mitchell and Shannon Wiser and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 in High's Chapel with Mark Foster and Jeff Hill to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High's. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
