Jimmy Lane Young, Jr.

McMinnville, TN resident and Smithville, TN native Jimmy Lane Young, Jr., age 56, was born August 10, 1968 and died January 28, 2025 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital.

A former security officer and truck driver, he was the son of Georgie Holder Young of McMinnville and the late Jimmy Lane Young, Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by wife, Julia Young; step-son, Joshua Dearinger; nephew, Alex Beaudion and sister-in-law, Jody Robertson.

Mr. Young was married February 26, 2021 to Dana Marie Young of McMinnville who survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by sons, Jimmy Young III and Jayden Young both of McMinnville; adopted son, Jayden Hobbs; step-sons, Andrew (Angel) Floyd and Alexander (Ashley) Floyd both of McMinnville; step-daughter, Cierra (Brad) Nelson of Alabama; grandchildren, Jackson Dearinger, Aurora Dearinger, Kason Trussell, Lane Trussell and Annanevaeh Floyd; step-father, Ronnie Waldon of McMinnville; brother, Jason Young; sisters-in-law, Trisha Henderson and Charlotte (Eddie) Hice; brothers-in-law, Lamar Campbell and Curtis Henderson and aunts, Elsie Young of Rock Island, TN and Brenda Young of McMinnville.

He loved his dogs, grandchildren and his family.

Per his wishes, Mr. Young will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at his residence on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Robin Hornbuckle to officiate. There will be no service or visitation held at High’s.
