Naperville, IL resident and Java, Indonesia native Joan Edna Dudney Smartt, age 91, was born on May 19, 1928 and died May 10, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville, IL. A retired Teacher and Speech Pathologist with the Coffee County School System and a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Edna Agnes Horne Dudney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert White Smartt, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Smartt of Elmhurst, IL; son, William C. Smartt (Mark Misrok) of New York City, NY; and half-sister, Rose Marie Dudney of Nashville, TN. A virtual service and subsequent zoom call will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 1pm CT / 2pm ET, facilitated by the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville at the following link: firstuunash.org/joan-smartt.
